The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Tuesday concluded its final arguments in the Flagship Investment reference against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Accountability Court II judge Arshad Malik heard the case.
On Monday, Nawaz’s lawyer Khawaja Harris had concluded his arguments in the third and the last reference against the PML-N leader. The court has ordered the parties to give additional arguments on the SC decision in the references until 1 pm on Wednesday (today). Nawaz’s counsel Khawaja Harris will present additional documents in the flagship reference before the court today.
On December 7, the Supreme Court had directed the accountability court hearing the remaining two corruption references against the Sharif family to conclude the cases by December 24.
Meanwhile, the accountability court judge reprimanded two Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders for making noise during the proceedings.
Former ministers Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Marriyam Aurangzeb were talking to each in the court. “I thought some illiterate people were making noise but someone told me that you are educated,” the judge said while pointing to them. “Don’t you have respect for the court,” he questioned. The judge directed the people having nothing to do with the case to leave the court. Subsequently, Aurangzeb left the court premises.
